Here’s the progress I made this week, on this 36×48 inch canvas. Most were 4 hour sessions… kind of a lot, when also working a 5 hour shift at the print shop, with a 30ish minute commute, each way. Days need more hours.

For years, I’ve used social media to post daily progress photos, when I paint. For a long time, people seemed to like and follow along. As platforms changed their algorithms, fewer and fewer people seem to see what I post. I want to use this blog so people who do want to see my stuff…

My new 90+cri studio lights that actually make red look good. I highly recommend good lighting for those of you who make art. This was around $60 or so in materials to put together. There are fancier options, but this will get me through until tariffs go away. I had to get the adjustable ones,…

Got the rest of the skull in, tonight.

Got the top of the skull in, tonight. I’ll get the lower jaw, tomorrow. I swear, I could do this painting 2x as large and it would take roughly the same amount of time.

Purple cacti! (They do exist. We have some growing in the yard.)
